TNE_QA kick-off meeting February 20-21.2014, UFAR
The project entitled "Promoting quality and recognition of transnational education in Armenia and Georgia" coordinated by UFAR was launched on 20 February 2014.
The project initiated by the Rector of the French University in Armenia (UFAR) Jean-Jacques MONTOIS brought together university representatives from 18 institutions in Armenia, Georgia, France, Germany, Belgium, Britain and the Armenian and Georgian ministries of Education and Science. Education Quality is actively participating in the TNE_QA project as well, and is taking over the responsibility to assist in the process of bringing in the richness of experience in TNE quality assurance.
The purpose of this meeting was to present the main objectives of the project, to combine the roles and actions of partners and discuss the financial and technical matters for the overall management of the project. The objective of the TNE_QA project is to enhance quality, and promote regulation and recognition of transnational education provisions in Armenia and Georgia through establishing internal Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and external (EQA) quality assurance mechanisms in line with OECD/UNESCO guidelines.
Within the framework of the TNE_QA project EQ is handling the consultation of the HEIs and EQAs in their development and formulation of internal and external QA standards and procedures, as well as assisting in the development and delivery of trainings. Education Quality is providing feedback on the developments related to internal quality assurance unit with regards to functions, roles and regulatory framework. EQ also supervises the quality control and monitoring of the project and takes over the support in pilot accreditations and dissemination activities.
During the two-day meeting, activities concerning the development, quality control, monitoring and dissemination of the project, as well as issues related to management were considered.
